The Thies First Class POT Wind Vane is a robust, high-precision analogue wind direction transmitter for wind-resource assessment, meteorological stations and wind-energy monitoring. Instead of relying on a mechanically stressed conventional potentiometer, its electronics emulate potentiometer behaviour while avoiding mechanical wear and ageing, while retaining wiring compatibility with classic potentiometric wind vanes and Ammonit data-acquisition systems. The First Class platform provides full 0–360° wind direction measurement, low starting threshold, short dynamic response and rugged outdoor construction, while the S21230H configuration adds electronically regulated heating for cold and icing-prone installations.
