The MS-80SH Albedometer is a high-accuracy Class A solar albedo and reflected irradiance measurement system designed for bifacial photovoltaic plants, meteorological monitoring and outdoor material testing. Built from two fast-response MS-80SH pyranometers mounted in an MS-Albedo Kit, the instrument simultaneously measures incoming and ground-reflected solar radiation, while integrated dome heating, digital communications and onboard diagnostics support reliable long-term operation in demanding PV performance and solar-resource monitoring applications.
Key Features
- ISO 9060:2018 Class A sensor performance
- IEC 61724-1 Class A PV monitoring capability
- Two MS-80SH pyranometers for incident and reflected irradiance
- Measures solar albedo and total reflectance
- Less than 0.5 second 95% response time
- Spectrally flat 285–3000 nm response
- Integrated solid-state dome heating
- Modbus RS-485 RTU communication
- SDI-12 communication
- Internal temperature diagnostics
- Internal humidity monitoring
- Tilt and roll diagnostics
- Level A EMI/EMC surge protection
- IP67 sensor construction
- ISO 17025 calibration
- 5-year warranty and recalibration interval
Using matched upward- and downward-facing Class A pyranometers allows the system to directly compare incident and reflected solar radiation, making it particularly valuable for evaluating ground reflectance and the rear-side energy contribution of bifacial PV modules.
