The ASI-16 All Sky Imager is an all-weather automatic cloud and sky monitoring camera designed for meteorological observation, atmospheric research and solar-power forecasting. Using a 5 MP CMOS camera, fisheye optics and a 180° field of view, the system captures high-resolution HDR hemispheric sky images and live video throughout daylight operation. The full ASI-16 incorporates an integrated ventilator and heater, onboard data acquisition unit and external temperature and relative-humidity sensing, allowing operation from -40°C to +80°C and helping maintain clear dome conditions in demanding environments. Cloud-cover, cloud-motion and optional cloud-base-height analysis make it a powerful tool for solar forecasting, remote sensing and scientific weather monitoring.
Key Features
- 5 MP CMOS sky camera
- 180° fisheye field of view
- High-resolution HDR JPG images
- Live video and picture streaming
- Up to 2–10 frames per second
- Integrated ventilation system
- Integrated dome heating
- Onboard data acquisition unit
- External temperature sensor
- External relative-humidity sensor
- Cloud-cover analysis
- Cloud-motion functions
- Optional Cloud Base Height analysis
- PoE 48 V power
- -40°C to +80°C operation
Two synchronized ASI-16 cameras can be used with EKO’s Cloud Base Height software to determine cloud-base height stereoscopically and support calculation of cloud movement, direction, relative speed and potential solar-shadow forecasting.
