The MS-21 Series Pyrgeometer is a research-grade longwave infrared radiation measurement system designed for climate research, meteorological networks and atmospheric energy-balance studies. Covering a broad 4.5–42 μm spectral range, the series measures both longwave downwelling radiation and longwave net radiation with excellent temperature stability, ultra-low window-heating error and WISG-traceable calibration. The family includes the smart digital MS-21SH Pyrgeometer, featuring integrated dome heating and internal diagnostics, and the precision analogue MS-21 Pyrgeometer, providing a proven low-noise measurement platform for professional data-acquisition systems.
Key Features
- Research-grade longwave radiation measurement
- 4.5–42 μm spectral response
- Longwave downwelling radiation measurement
- Longwave net radiation measurement
- -250 to +250 W/m² net radiation range
- Less than 18 second 95% response
- Less than 4 W/m² window-heating offset
- Less than 1 W/m² zero offset B
- Less than 1% temperature response
- 180° field of view
- PT100 detector temperature sensing
- WISG-traceable calibration
- -40°C to +80°C operating temperature
- Smart digital and precision analogue options
- 5-year warranty
The MS-21 Series can measure longwave radiation during daylight without requiring a sun tracker, shading disk or shadow ring because its specially coated silicon dome suppresses unwanted shortwave solar radiation below the longwave measurement band.
