The MS-711N DNI Spectroradiometer is an all-weather direct normal spectral irradiance sensor designed to measure the direct solar spectrum from 300 to 1100 nm. Based on EKO’s new-generation grating spectroradiometer platform, the instrument combines a temperature-controlled detector, optical resolution below 7 nm and NIST-traceable calibration with an integrated 5° collimating tube, quartz window and window heater. Mounted on a compatible EKO sun tracker, the MS-711N DNI follows the solar disc automatically to provide wavelength-resolved Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI) data for photovoltaic, CPV, atmospheric and solar-resource research.
Key Features
- Direct normal spectral irradiance measurement
- 300–1100 nm UV–Visible–NIR range
- Integrated fixed collimating tube
- 5° field of view
- Quartz collimator window
- Integrated window heater
- Optical resolution below 7 nm
- ±0.2 nm wavelength accuracy
- Temperature-controlled detector core
- Automatic 10–5000 ms exposure
- NIST-traceable calibration
- Calibration uncertainty budget
- RS-422 / RS-232 communication
- IP65 environmental protection
- Sun-tracker mounting capability
Unlike the standard MS-711N, the DNI version physically limits its field of view to 5° around the solar disc, allowing the instrument to isolate the direct-beam spectrum when continuously aligned to the sun by a tracker.
