The MS-711N Spectroradiometer is a research-grade, all-weather UV–Visible–NIR solar spectral irradiance sensor designed for accurate outdoor measurements from 300 to 1100 nm. Its new-generation grating optical system, temperature-controlled detector core, high optical resolution below 7 nm and NIST-traceable calibration provide stable spectral measurements for photovoltaic research, solar-resource assessment and scientific monitoring. With no moving optical components, RS-422/RS-232 communication and compatibility with EKO STR-Series sun trackers, the MS-711N is suitable for permanent monitoring stations as well as travelling reference measurements. It also forms the shortwave component of both the WISER I and WISER II systems.
Key Features
- 300–1100 nm UV–Visible–NIR spectral range
- Optical resolution below 7 nm
- ±0.2 nm wavelength accuracy
- Temperature-controlled detector core
- 25°C detector temperature control
- Automatic 10–5000 ms exposure
- NIST-traceable calibration
- Calibration uncertainty budget
- Less than 5% directional response
- Less than 2% temperature response
- 180° hemispherical field of view
- Quartz optical dome
- RS-422 / RS-232 communication
- IP65 environmental protection
- Compatible with EKO STR-Series sun trackers
The MS-711N can also be installed in an albedometer configuration for spectral albedo measurement in bifacial PV installations, allowing wavelength-resolved analysis of both incoming and reflected solar radiation rather than only broadband albedo.
